Before Your Wedding

The Wedding Day
You planned with your wedding photographer beforehand, so there’s plenty of time & the day feels light and fun.
Not only does your photographer take incredible pictures, but you look and feel amazing—and have an awesome time while doing so!
Taking pictures feels easy because your photographer doesn't feel like just another wedding vendor.

Keepsakes to Cherish
You get a few preview images while your wedding photographer edits your photographs.
You then receive the high-resolution digital files in your custom online gallery.
You work together with your wedding photographer to create family heirlooms (like your wedding album) that withstand the test of time and eventually are passed down to future generations.

CONSULTATION

Officially reserving your date
Our journey of working together starts with a video chat, where we can get to know each other, talk through what you're planning and make sure we'd be a good fit!
Once you're ready to make it official, we crack open the champagne (figuratively... ok, maybe literally as well! 🥂) and then you'll sign a digital wedding agreement and pay the booking fee directly from our online portal. Super simple.
ENGAGEMENT
SESSION
Though not a requirement, the next step will usually be a pre-wedding photo session, also known as an engagement session—a great way to practice looking natural in front of the camera before your wedding.
Tom will use this session to help you find your flow and also capture amazing images of you at a location that's special to you. After this session, you'll feel so much more relaxed in front of the camera, making the photography part of your wedding day feel effortless and easy.

Tips to create an amazing photo timeline
As we get closer to your wedding, Tom will send you tips on how to get the most out of your wedding photo timeline without adding stress to your day.
Then, a few weeks before, we'll send you specific questionnaires asking you for "can't miss" family photo combinations and general timeline info. We'll hop on a video call, catch up and go through the flow of the day to make sure we're on the same page.

All of our preparation and chats before your wedding day will ensure it flows smoothly and that you have an amazing time. Tom will capture your wedding with aesthetic and genuine human connection in mind.
Tom approaches your wedding not just as a photographer, but as a guest in your inner circle. Getting to know your family and friends ensures people can open up and look authentic in your photographs.
The focus is to create images that don't look forced or posed, and that feel candid and real. Tom will use a little bit of guidance and a lot of wedding experience to ensure that happens!

HEIRLOOMS
& ALBUMS
After a few weeks, we'll deliver the high-resolution digital files in your online gallery. Then it's on to crafting your wedding album!
Tom will use his expertise to guide you in creating a truly unique piece of timeless art for you and your family.
A hundred years from now, when the hard drives and computers where our images were once stored are no longer working, all of those digital memories will be gone. The prints and albums will remain.

FINE ART KEEPSAKES TO BE PASSED TO FUTURE GENERATIONS
I always approach capturing your wedding with an album in mind. I make sure to capture a variety of wide, medium, and tight photographs to create visual variety, similar to how a cinematographer would approach filming a movie.
These albums are beautiful and are archival—they're built with materials meant to withstand the test of time, so your album can be passed down to future generations.
The album design process super simple—I design the initial proof and then you can make any changes you'd like!

Our goal is to be a calm and uplifting anchor for you throughout the planning process. Tom brings exceptional organization to help you ensure your wedding timeline flows smoothly, but also make sure that we keep things loose and leave space for those spontaneous, magical moments.
We capture only 15 weddings each year
To ensure we can give you our undivided attention and deliver an exceptional experience, we only take on 15 weddings each year.
This allows us to approach your wedding in a personal way; we're there to be part of your support system from the moment you sign the wedding agreement until well after the photographs have been delivered.

Do you travel for weddings?
Yes! We're bicoastal, meaning we live and photograph both in NY & Southern California (no travel fees for these locations!).
We love to travel and have been all over the world for events—Bermuda, Paris, Colorado, Florida, Washington, to name a few!
What is your approach to capturing our wedding?
Our goal is to capture the energy and life of your wedding—not just what it looked like, but what it felt like to be there.
By focusing on being part of your support team from the moment we start working together until well after your wedding, we want you to feel relaxed when we're working together, allowing you and the people closest to you to be authentically yourselves as we capture them.
How does videography work?
Heather and I have designed a unique approach to providing wedding day videography while photographing your wedding.
Depending on the details surrounding your wedding and what you’re looking for, we may still recommend working with a dedicated wedding day videographer—we can talk about it in detail during our chat!
Can you help us feel more confident in front of the camera?
Yes! Many of the couples we work with tell us they want their pictures to have a candid, behind-the-scenes feel to them. This only happens when you and the people closest to you are able to open up and be true to yourselves during a photo session.
This is why getting to know you as more than just our wedding clients is so important.
How many images do we receive and how long does it take?
We’re strong believers in quality over quantity—we’d much rather you absolutely love every single image in your gallery than feel overwhelmed with thousands of photographs that look and feel very similar.
On average, you can expect anywhere between 50-70 images per hour of coverage. All photographs are delivered as high resolution files in a custom online gallery. Turnaround time is typically 4-6 weeks, but don’t worry—we will send you some previews as you wait for your gallery to be finished.
Do you use film cameras or digital cameras?
Tom's a hybrid photographer, that means he'll often use both film and digital cameras.
There's a timelessness to film that's difficult to emulate with digital cameras: photographs captured on old school film are often dreamier, almost like a drawing or painting.
However, digital cameras are much more practical for fast-paced photojournalistic moments. Using a bit of both allows Tom to get the best of both worlds!

Tom will frequently touch base to help figure out your photography timeline and make sure to get to know you as a couple, so he can approach your wedding in a personalized way.
A few weeks before your wedding, we'll have a video chat to catch up and discuss any concerns. We'll finalize your photography timeline to make sure everything flows smoothly on your wedding day.
