I absolutely loved taking these Fire Island Lighthouse Engagement Photos with Casey & Ryan!

As an avid beach-goer myself, I’m always pro couples choosing to do their sessions near the ocean. Both Casey and Ryan were ok with getting a little wet for some amazing images (Ryan was a lifeguard and is a fellow surfer) which totally paid off! A bit of swell in the water made for some epic ocean conditions that helped set the scene.

We then headed over to the Kensico Dam Plaza to capture some photographs outdoors.

A date night engagement session with Lisa & James!

Both Lisa & James love to cook, so we thought it would be fun to document a dinner date night as their engagement session. We started in their apartment for the first part of the session.

Erin & Michael’s RGNY wedding was such a beautiful celebration.

Erin and Michael first met in a bar on Bowery and Spring Street in NYC. As Michael went to leave the bar that night, Erin tapped him on the shoulder and said, “I can’t let you leave without saying hello.”

Years later, he proposed on a Sunday in their Forest Hills, Queens, apartment. They celebrated their love with family & friends at the RGNY wedding venue (formally known as Martha Clara) on a sun-filled October day.

Heather and I are so grateful that we got to meet Erin & Michael and capture their amazing love for one another.

While sorting through my camera gear, I came across an undeveloped roll of film tucked inside one of my cameras from a pre-COVID trip to California.

It might sound odd, but one of the best parts about shooting film photography is the lack of instant gratification. Photographs seem to have more meaning when you wait to view them (in this case, it’s been well over a year 😂).

I removed the roll from the camera, loaded it up into my developing tank, processed the film and scanned it. Here are the results:

On this same trip, I took along my Canon 518 Super 8 camera and made this short nostalgic film:

Dane’s brother showed so much love during his speech.

Dane & Carolyn’s Battery Gardens wedding took place on a warm October afternoon in NYC.

Dane grew up in South Africa and recently came over to the United States, where he met Carolyn, a native New Yorker. Dane’s closest friends and family flew all the way from South Africa. Many of them had never been to the US before!

Dane and Carolyn wanted to take pictures in DUMBO, Brooklyn, in addition to Battery Park. After getting ready at their apartment (which had an amazing view of the Brooklyn Bridge from the roof,) we took the short trip to the bridge. We then headed to the wedding ceremony and reception at the Battery Garden’s Restaurant in the financial district.
